Meat CSA

Meat CSAs now available at Alaska Natural Foods! What is a meat CSA? 

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. A CSA is a healthy subscription that you can eat! Customers  select and prepay for a package size and the period or time that they’d like to subscribe for. We offer 3-month, 6- month, or 12-month subscription options, and you can select a package size of a half Farm Share (approximately  10lb/month) or a full Farm Share (approximately 20lbs/month). You will get a variety of products in each package  starting on 7 May 2022. On the first Saturday of each month, your CSA share will be ready for pickup from Alaska  Natural Foods in Delta Junction at 4614 Tanana Loop Extension Road during our store hours (10am-6pm). 

What are the benefits of a CSA?  

♦ It’s economical. Don’t worry about inflation in meat prices! Once you sign up, your price is locked in until  your chosen term is up.  

♦ Perfect for those that don’t have freezer space to buy a whole animal because you are pre-buying only a  section of each animal that is processed that month. 

♦ Your meat will have a better nutritional profile than mass marketed meat.  

♦ Animals that are humanely raised and processed in-state means a fresher product with a lower carbon foot print.  

♦ You’re supporting the local economy and buying from farmers who have a proven track record of  regenerative agriculture practices.  

♦ You have a direct relationship with your farmer, so you’ll know how that animal was raised. If you have  questions, we have answers! No overseas mystery processing here.  

♦ It’s better for your family, your community, and the environment.  

Your monthly shares are pre-assembled and will include approximately half ground and half higher-end cuts such as roasts,  steaks, chops, etc. Meat cuts are packaged and frozen in “cryovac” bags and burger is in tube-style bags. The  meats included in the share reflect what is available on the farm on that month and cannot be customized.  Meats will include, but not limited to, Alaskan grown beef, pastured pork, whole pastured chicken, and even  occasionally rabbit, goat, or lamb. This makes this the most diverse meat CSA that we know of! You’ll also get  other surprises periodically, we can’t tell you what yet, otherwise it wouldn’t be a surprise! You will be charged monthly for your subscription. After the duration of your subscription if over, you will no longer be charged and will have to renew. 

How to get your subscription:

For Palmer and Anchorage Delivery: Subscriptions will be delivered every third Friday. Pickup times and locations will be pre-coordinated by email.

For North Pole and Fairbanks: Subscripitons will be delivered every second Friday. Pickup times and locations will be pre-coordinated by email.

For on-farm pickup at our Delta Junction store: subscriptions will be available every first Saturday
